CAD Assignment #3 – 3D printed Bolt

Complete the following tutorial series to design an accurate model of a Hex Head Cap Screw and Nut that actually threads!  

• Tutorial 1 – Modeling the screw  (you will need this file…Hex Head Cap Screw 1/2-UNC)
• Tutorial 2 – Modeling the nut (you will need this file…Hex Nut 1/2-UNC)
• Tutorial 3 – Joining the screw to the nut (cylindrical joint) and linking rotation to linear movement (motion link)
• Tutorial 4 – Preparing the screw and nut for the 3D printer
• 3D Print both the nut and screw
• While waiting for the 3D printer, create an orthographic dimensioned drawing for both the nut and the screw.
  • Use the drawings provided for reference (Nut) (Screw)
  • Use 11″ x 8 1/2″ ASME Paper
  • Print (output to pdf then print), check over, then submit your drawings for grading
