Please note: these are the ONLY district approved transportation providers.  

District Activity Buses

Cost $175 /per day

District Activity Bus Program has three 24 passenger buses.

REQUIRED: Unrestricted Class 4 driver’s license.   

Equipped with chains for Mount Washington travel, user must be knowledgeable in their application and use. Parent/Volunteer Drivers

District Bikes  NEW!

The District Bike program includes 20 varying sizes of bikes, skill development equipment, helmets, adult reflective vests, adaptive equipment, and basic bike maintenance tools.

  • Max 30 people (students & chaperones)
  • Plan your trip at www.bctransit.com/comox-valley, trips must be regular routes between 9am-2:30pm
  • Confirm your trip dates and times by emailing Andrew Edwards <andrewe@pwtransit.ca> and Sheri Vanderzonbrouwer
  • Cost:  Kids 12 years and younger are FREE!

Chaperones pay $2 per trip.  If there are more than 7 students over the age of 12, a School Group Transit Pass is cheaper ($30 total for the whole group payable to the driver).

“Bus Ready” Transit Presentation
(K-Grade 6/7) 
 
40-55 min. interactive presentation include:
    • PPT presentation about how to be a kind, courteous and safe transit ride.
    • How transit helps connect the community and help the environment
    • Students can have a bus ride (with signed permission forms) or enjoy a bus tour (stationary)

“Transit and Affordability” Presentation 
(Grade 7-12)
 
Components of the 40 minute interactive presentation are:
  • What is affordable transportation?
  • What are the true costs of driving a car?
  • How to plan transit trips
  • What are other low cost ways to get around?
  • Tips on how to become a courteous, safe and kind transit rider

Yellow School bus both 46 adult and 54 adult passenger capacity buses.  Pricing available on request and evaluated case by case depending on specific bus size, times and location.  Ability to travel to Mount Washington, specific bus required for travel so please put request in early to ensure its approval. Please submit requests a minimum of 3 days before travel and more if it is a special request outside of operating hours (8:45 am-2:30pm) 

Please submit requests directly to our local Comox Valley branch coordinator Clio Nelson (clio.nelson@firstgroup.com).

Include in your requests:

  • Number and grade of passengers
  • Pick up time and location
  • Destination
  • Return time from destination

Comox Coach & Shuttle

Locally owned and operated.  Has both full sized buses and vans available.  Comox Coach and Shuttle will go up Mount Washington for any of you winter field trips.

District approved transportation for all travel including mountain/winter travel.  Comfortable coach style busses.

    • All three of the International Mini-Busses are equipped with winter tires
    • Be sure to practice putting on mini-bus chains prior to trip
    • Driver must have a valid class four drivers license
