Online Resources that are Free During School Closures:

Epic Books – This site is always free for teachers and it allows students (Grades k-5) to instantly access over 35 000 ebooks. You will need to sign up and then sign up your class.

Scholastic Learn at Home – The site supports students with approximately three hours of learning opportunities per day, including projects, articles and stories, virtual field trips, reading and geography challenges, and more. These daily learning opportunities were carefully curated by our editors to reduce the burden on teachers and families needing to create meaningful learning experiences.

Kahoot – This awesome site can be used free but now you can have full access for free. Students can do fun games and quizzes together as a class or individually. there are lots of already created Kahoot resources here for you.

Brain PopBrain Pop is offering free service to schools while they are closed. There is a wealth of wonderful resources here that you can assign for your students. One person from each school should sign up for the school and share the username and password. Mostly suited for Elementary/Middle school level.

Sum Dog – Personalized math & spelling practice that students love. Engage your students with adaptive learning and multi-player games. Aligned to all major curricula for ages 5 to 14, Sumdog is proven to accelerate growth.

Wide Open School by Common Sense  is the result of a collaboration among leading publishers, nonprofits, and education and technology companies. Wide Open School features a free collection of the best learning experiences and activities for kids, organized by grade band and subject. You will also find daily schedules with creative breaks and recommendations to keep kids engaged and exploring, one day (or one hour) at a time.

Breakout EDU – a collection of digital games that students can play at home. Students can click on any game and start playing! These activities are all aligned with teaching standards. They are arranged by grade and cover K-12

Book CreatorBook Creator – This program can be used online or as ipad/iphone app. It is a fabulous program for making books. They are offering it free for 90 days to closed schools with the premium feature that allows students to collaborate on books.
