If your computer currently has 17 different\u00a0windows open and you’re playing a game of “Where did I put that document?”, this tip is for you (yes, that’s me too).\u00a0\u00a0I just discovered this icon on my computer and I had to share!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Windows 11 includes a hidden\u00a0tool called Virtual Desktops, that lets you create separate workspaces for different tasks. Think of it as having multiple desks in your office: one for email, one for planning, and one for meetings ( and one for working on report cards that you can keep hidden in the background).<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nHow to Create a Virtual Desktop<\/strong><\/p>\n
    \n
  1. Click the\u00a0Task View<\/strong> button on your taskbar (the icon beside Search\u00a0), or press\u00a0Windows + Tab<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Click\u00a0+ New Desktop<\/strong>\u00a0at the bottom of the screen.<\/li>\n
  3. Open different apps and windows on each desktop.<\/li>\n
  4. Switch between desktops by pressing\u00a0Windows + Ctrl + Left Arrow<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Windows + Ctrl + Right Arrow<\/strong>\u00a0or click on the\u00a0Task View<\/strong>\u00a0button again and select the Desktop you would like to work in.<\/li>\n

    Why You’ll Love It<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Instead of minimizing and reopening windows all day, you simply switch desktops.<\/p>\n

    \u2728 Once you start using Virtual Desktops, you’ll wonder how you ever managed with just one. Just be careful that you don’t think that you lost what you were working on and start again (yes-I did that one).<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
