\u200b\u200bI am doing a presentation at a conference on Friday and like my normal self, I am totally nervous and want to do well.\u00a0 To practice the presentation,\u00a0I tried out Microsoft’s Speaker Coach in PowerPoint and now I want to share how awesome it is with all of you! I was able to figure out how long my presentation was (too long), how many times I said umm (lots), if my pace sped up and slowed down (yep)\u00a0and a whole bunch more information about how I present!\u00a0 This is\u00a0a valuable\u00a0tool for me, for teachers and for all our students who use PowerPoint.\u00a0 This reminds me, I can also turn on Closed Captioning in PowerPoint when I present and we missed a link in our Tech Tip last week:\u00a0Captions and Soundfield in the Classroom \u2013 Learn71<\/a>\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n

How to use Speaker Coach:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Open your PowerPoint presentation online (it must\u00a0be the online version)<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Click\u00a0on the arrow beside\u00a0Present\u00a0<\/strong>at the top right and then click on\u00a0Rehearse with Coach<\/strong><\/p>\n

3. When you are ready to start, click on\u00a0Start Rehearsing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you leave\u00a0Show Real-time feedback<\/strong>\u00a0checked, as you are\u00a0speaking it encourages you and lets you know what you make mistakes (like saying umm\u200b\u00a0over and over).<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 When you finish presenting, press end or escape to get out of presenter view and you will see your results.\u00a0 Make sure you scroll down to see them all! There are a whole bunch of new areas of data you can see like if words were repeated, pronounced correctly and if your language was inclusive.<\/p>\n
