\u200b\u200bHope everyone had a fun and relaxing Spring Break.\u00a0 Have you ever had a PDF that consisted of a table with a list that you wanted to be able to edit? \u00a0If it was a Word document, you could open it in Word, and it would convert it. \u00a0Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way in Excel. \u00a0However, you can insert\u00a0a pdf once you’re inside Excel, which will then convert the contents\u00a0into a table. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This would be useful if you had a list of contacts or a schedule that was in a pdf format,\u00a0but you wanted to be able to edit it.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Follow the directions below to do this:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

1. \u00a0Open Excel<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Go to “Data” top tab -> “Get Data” from the ribbon -> From File -> From PDF<\/span><\/p>\n

3. \u00a0Locate the PDF from your computer -> Import.<\/span><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 Select “Table” -> “Load” \u00a0(NOT transform data).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If there are two tables in the pdf (as in the image above), this process will need to be repeated. The second table will be added\u00a0as a separate spreadsheet and can be accessed by clicking on the tab at the bottom of the excel document.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you would like all the data in one spreadsheet\u00a0(one table) just\u00a0copy and paste the data from one spreadsheet to the other.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The data will be imported AND automatically converted to a table. \u00a0This will allow you to use the drop-down arrows at the top of each column to manipulate your data easily.<\/em><\/p>\n
