\u200bI sure wish I knew this Tech Tip before the Code Quest Arcade last month when our students were frantically searching for images with no background that they could use for their characters in their games. I used to tell people to add “transparent background” in the Google search when they wanted this but I just learned a super easy fast way to search for images with a transparent background.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here’s how:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Open\u00a0Google\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0and click on\u00a0Images<\/strong>, then\u00a0type what you are looking for in the Search.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Click on\u00a0Tools<\/strong>\u00a0on the top right of the search:<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Click on\u00a0Colour<\/strong>\u00a0and select\u00a0Transparent<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Now the pictures that they find should have a transparent background.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 This is a super great opportunity to teach your students about\u00a0Usage Rights<\/strong>\u00a0as well. Have them click on\u00a0Usage Rights<\/strong>\u00a0and select\u00a0Creative Common Licenses:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pictures that students find under the Creative Commons License are\u00a0\u200b\u200bfree for public use.\u00a0 While we should always give the artist credit for the pictures, it is not always necessary\u200b\u00a0if you are using these pictures.<\/p>\n
