DRAFTING 10<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Drafting 10\u00a0is an introduction to a broad topic generally referred to as technical drawing, or ‘drafting<\/em>‘.\u00a0 Technical drawing aims to relate information in a visual and diciplined manner for the purposes of clear communication of ideas.\u00a0 \u00a0A career in itself, the knowledge and skills that pertain to\u00a0technical drawing also embed themselves\u00a0in many\u00a0careers and trades.<\/p>\n

Manual Drafting <\/strong><\/p>\n

Where it all began! As much as computers now dominate the technical drawing landscape, it is worth spending some time\u00a0developing some \u2018manual\u2019 drafting skills.\u00a0 Students will move several exercises building skills, knowledge and an appreciation for the discipline of technical drawing as they do so.<\/p>\n

  5. Board Drafting 2 \u2013 Orthographic Block (Imperial), scale 1:1<\/li>\n
  6. Board Drafting 3 \u2013 Orthographic Block (Metric), scale 2:1<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    CAD (Computer Assisted Design)<\/strong><\/p>\n

    If you’ve ever drawn something on a computer you’ve used CAD software! In this course we will be using an application called Fusion 360. Fusion 360 is a \u20183D Modelling\u2019.\u00a0 It is professional level software, used by engineers, and designers every day.\u00a0 We will be exploring this software and learning how we can use it to draw objects for making.<\/p>\n

    Setting Up an Account and Obtaining An Education License<\/strong><\/p>\n

    You will need to\u00a0setup an Autodesk account and apply for a\u00a0Fusion 360<\/a>\u00a0free education\u00a0license.\u00a0 All Autodesk software is free to students if they verify their educational status. Follow the link\u00a0 to complete the two steps noted below.<\/p>\n
