Modelling software.\u00a0 Students will uses the software to create a three dimensional models of a cutting board.\u00a0 Once created, 2 dimensional \u2018working drawings\u2019, or plans,\u00a0 are\u00a0generated which serve as a guide to the machining and assembling of the cutting board.\u00a0 Cutting boards will also incorporate the programming and operation of CNC machinery .<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cutting Board Design<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As with any project, there are some \u2018constraints\u2019, or rules, that need to be observed when designing.<\/p>\n<p>Design Constraints:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Project Planning<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Your project will be modeled in 3D using Fusion 360<\/li>\n<li><strong>Size Constraints (limits)<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Overall Length &amp; width \u2013 maximum length 13\u2033 (330 mm), maximum width 12\u2033 (300 mm)<\/li>\n<li>Thickness \u2013\u00a0 finished thickness of your cutting board shall be 3\/4\u2033<\/li>\n<li>Individual Boards \u2013 no single board shall be wider than 3\u2033<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Number of Boards<\/strong> \u2013 your design must use a minimum of 4 pieces of wood to demonstrate your ability to laminate (glue boards together)<\/li>\n<li><strong>CNC \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0your design will incorporate the use of both the CNC router and the Laser engraver in an effort to enhance the finished product and demonstrate the ability to operate these tools.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Working Drawing (<em>plan<\/em>) \u2013<\/strong> from your completed 3D model, a dimensioned working drawing will be produced that will be used during construction of your project.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wood Restriction<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Wood species
