sandpaper (do not sand the edges).\u00a0 Use correct technique by sanding \u2018with the grain\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Have your teacher spray a clear coat on the outside of all pieces<\/li>\n<li>Once dry, LIGHTLY \u2018dust\u2019 all sprayed surfaces using 180 grit paper (again, sand \u2018with the grain\u2019)<\/li>\n<li>Cut pieces of translucent tracing paper and glue stick these to the inside of all lantern pieces except the bottom.\n<ul>\n<li>Paper should not overhang edges and should not interfere with assembly<\/li>\n<li>Glue stick is to be applied to the wood, then wood is to be pressed onto the paper<\/li>\n<li>Using a utility knife, trim off excess paper as\/where needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Carefully assemble the sides and top of lantern.
