Root Robots and Computational Thinking

Tonya Lowe, Teacher-Librarian at Lake Trail, led an ongoing series (4 weekly lessons) of Grade 6 Root Robot Math classes.  Students learned how to plot/coordinate grids (x and y axis) and coded the robot to move to certain coordinates, drawing a mystery image… A heart!
Why? Because: kindness always matters. Even when doing hands-on learning about Math concepts and computational thinking.
